PRESCRIPTION WEIGHT LOSS MEDICATIONS

Let's discuss the right medication for you

MEDICATIONS ARE COVERED BY MOST INSURANCE COMPANIES

Prescription weight loss medications are covered by insurance for people with a BMI of greater than 30 or with a BMI of 27 and have a diagnosis of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or type 2 diabetes. Weight loss results vary for each person and happen with medication and lifestyle changes. If appropriate, you will be prescribed one of the medications described below. Let's discuss your options.

PHENTERMINE AND/OR TOPIRAMATE

Pills to help suppress appetite so you eat less and lose the weight. Low cost medications to help you lose the weight.

ZEPBOUND (TIRZEPATIDE)/SAXENDA (LIRAGLUTIDE)/WEGOVY (SEMAGLUTIDE)

The newest weight loss medications approved by the FDA. Saxenda is a daily subcutaneous injection and Wegovy and Zepbound are weekly subcutaneous injections. You will be prescribed one to help you with your weight loss goal. This medication slows down food from emptying from your stomach and sends satiety messages to your brain, so you eat less. Your insurance may cover this medication for you.
